Goshen County Wyoming
Continuation of a horizontal development trend in a different reservoir
Located in the northern Part of the DJ Basin, Goshen County has numerous Cretaceous aged reservoir targets. Numerous horizontal wells are being drilled in the Niobrara and Codell reservoirs in this part of the DJ basin. Globoil is going to test the potential of other Cretaceous reservoirs, particularly the J and D sands as a horizontal targets.
Key Investment Highlights
- Playing off a productive vertical Cretaceous field.
- Using horizontal technology to unlock un-produced resources in and around this field.
- Approximately 20,000 acres under lease.
- Three potential pay zones identified, each with either production or shows.
- The prospect is low risk as the horizontal target will be the same as the vertical production.
- Well established infrastructure in an oil and gas industry friendly state.
Background
Background of the project
Land
20,000+ acres under lease.
Prospect
Impressive initial production rates of over 700 BOPD have been realized with horizontal development of the Powder River and DJ basins Cretaceous sands. Globoil believes that as yet untapped oil remains further to the east along the gently dipping axes of the Powder River and DJ basins.
Conclusion
Modern horizontal drilling and development technologies are being used with great success in these basins. Globoil is looking to extend this success further to the east in the DJ basin and into known productive sands that commonly aren’t drilled with horizontals.
