Yellowstone County Montana

Overview of the project

Unlocking value from an established Montana oil asset

Located in the prolific Central Montana Platform and Bull Mountains Basin, Yellowstone County has numerous oil fields that were discovered in the Amsden. The vertical wells in these fields are mostly depleted but, in a few cases, Globoil believes that significant resources remain that can be accessed with modern horizontal drilling and completion technologies.

Key Investment Highlights

  • Proven producing field with millions of barrels produced.
  • Approximately 12,000 acres under lease.
  • Based on Globoil and independent analyses, millions of barrels still remain.
  • Multiple redevelopment and infill drilling locations identified.
  • Low risk project supported by decades of production history and technical data.
  • First horizontal test proposed to be drilled out from an idle vertical well.
  • Well established infrastructure in a oil and gas industry friendly state.

Background

Background of the project

Land

12,000+ acres under lease.

Prospect

Impressive initial production rates of up to 1000 BOPD were documented in the Amsden reservoir with vertical wells.  Globoil believes that as yet untapped oil remains due to the discontinuous nature of this particular reservoir and the strong water drive that exists in these fields.

Conclusion

Modern horizontal drilling and development technologies never previously used in these fields, will result in substantial low risk and low cost production.
